Landmarks In CGI

Jurassic Park has always been a favourite of mine, along with my intense love of dinosaurs I've always loved the CGI used in making the film which I personally believe was breathtaking for its time and its still amazing to this day. I love this video as it shows just some of the vast amounts of effort that were put into making this film into what we know and love today.

Thought Bubble

I thought Id take some time out from my more serious blogging to share my experience when I went to the annual Leeds Thought Bubble Convention.

Its not often I get many opportunities to cosplay, usually the locations for doing so are pretty far to get to. But I was major excited about thought bubble, what with it being outside my doorstep n all.
I attended Thought Bubble as Lilinette (BLEACH) with my friend David who went as Aizen (BLEACH also)

Walking through the doors we had interviews, a billion photos from people and a hell of a load of signed stuff from some truly amazing artists. Put a little slide of the pictures that we took. Brilliant Photo Nectar.

Modelling In Maya - Truck

For the first steps in modelling in Maya we were all given step y step instructions of how to make a little model truck using snapping and other such gadgets. Making the truck was quite infuriating in some steps as at times I didn't find it clear on what actually to do which made the whole process of making some parts of the little truck infuriating. Thankfully with the right help I was able to finish the model.

Maya Test - Second Animation

For this animation we gave the pendulum some life and animated it to sway in a more natural tail-like way. Once again uploading on YouTube seems to have screwed up the original interface colour of Maya making it bright pink so the animation is actually quite hard to see, but still i'm quite happy with it.

Maya Test - First Animation

The first animation I've done on Maya involving a pendulum. For some reason beyond my knowing when i uploaded it to YouTube something went wrong and this beautiful red pink screeny thing came to be.

Instructional Video

The title says it all. This was part of the Digital Film section where we had to individually create a 1 minute instructional video. I did how to make Spaghetti, all in all it was ok although if I get more time on it I will tweek a few things for sure, especially sound and music.

The picture below shows my storyboard for the short film and the kinds of shots I wanted to use.

Looking at the storyboard and the film you can see that I altered some things in the film such as the 2nd panel of the film when on the storyboard it shows all equipment laid out on the counter, the actual film uses a small stop motion type animation to show all the things you need gathering up together. Another scene that I decided to change was panel 4 on the storyboard, as it was suggested that while in spare time waiting for the spaghetti to cook you could partake in egg roulette, this was not shown but instead suggested.
I also decided to change the music as I was planning to use "Spanish Flea" I soon decided to make it into a more homely and classical soundtrack using "Boogeyman" from the Fallout soundtrack.
