VFX Working With Greenscreen

One thing that I realised when creating my film was how little green screen we had. Because of the small amount of green screen that we had it left very little room for movement and myself as well as other people directing their own short films ran into problems where their actor had run out of room or had walked off of the green screen area.

The video shown below is a virtual backlot reel of VFX company 'Stargate Studios' various productions. In this video it not only shows the behind the scenes After Effects compositions which add assets into the environment but also shows just how vast their green screens are, sometimes dedicating entire studio spaces to green screen.

If i could change anything about how we did our filming I would definitely make sure that we had atleast an entire wall dedicated to green screen in order to avoid the troubles of walking off of the green area. I feel that if we had more area to move then future films would be more realistic and free.
